Worship Gatherings: Sundays at 10:30 am
Worship Gatherings
Worship at Augustine takes many different shapes and forms, happens in a variety of spaces…. Sanctuary worship may be traditional in format or contemplative/ambient. Cafe worship (usually the first Sunday of the month) is conversation based and happens in the Oak Table room (enter from the doors on Pulford). Whatever its form, woship in intentionally and unapologetically open to the great diversity of God’s people. No matter who you love or how you understand yourself, no matter your income or education or race or culture, you are welcome. We are just one part of God’s often-clumsy people, seeking justice and resisting evil, committed to an alternative vision for what humans-in-community can look like.
Choir
Music matters. A lot. Singing together has been a vital part of the experience of worship for as long as people have been worshipping. Augustine’s choir is central to our experience of worship - they’re good, really good, but perhaps more importantly it’s not about them, it’s not performace - they have a way of lifting the whole community. Under the direction of the Music Director, the singers undertake a wide range of music, including classical, folk, contemporary, and popular works. Each Sunday the choir presents two anthems in addition to supporting and leading congregational hymns.
